When we designed our 300ml liquid chalk, we wanted packaging that aligned with our ethos towards sustainability. Traditional squeeze bottles may look familiar, but they use significantly more plastic and often lead to premature product spoilage. That is why we were the first to chose a lightweight, thin-film spout pouch that dramatically cuts plastic usage while extending the usable life of the chalk itself. For climbers who care about performance, waste reduction, and long-term value, this packaging choice makes a real difference.
Most liquid chalk on the market comes in rigid plastic bottles or squeeze tubes, which requires far more plastic to manufacture, more space to ship, and has greater end-of-life impact on the environment. A typical 300ml liquid chalk bottle often uses three to five times more plastic than an equivalent spout pouch. Thin-film packaging, by contrast, uses minimal material without sacrificing durability or functionality. The result is lower production emissions, reduced resource use, and less plastic entering the waste stream.
Some climbers ask whether a recyclable plastic bottle would be a better option - a fair question. In reality, even recyclable containers require significantly more material and far more energy to produce, transport, and reprocess. Most bottles never get recycled due to product contamination or low regional recycling rates. Thin-film pouches use only a fraction of the plastic, carry a much smaller carbon footprint, and still reduce environmental impact - even when compared directly to equal volume recyclable packaging.
Thin-film packaging also solves a major problem with liquid chalk: spoilage from air exposure. Every time you squeeze a bottle, air is pulled back inside, slowly evaporating the alcohol base and thickening the product. Over time, this leads to clumping, drying, or chalk that becomes unusable before the bottle is empty. Our flexible pouch collapses as you dispense it, which minimizes air intake and dramatically extends the life of the product. Climbers get consistent viscosity, better performance, and less wasted chalk.
The result is packaging that is lighter to carry, longer-lasting, and much more responsible from an environmental standpoint. By switching to a thin-film pouch, we reduce plastic consumption, protect the formulation from air exposure, and ensure that every millilitre of chalk is usable. For performance-driven climbers looking for the most efficient and eco-friendly liquid chalk on the market, our 300ml pouch delivers the best of both worlds.
