The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) announced national strike action on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET. This may affect orders currently in transit and any new orders placed using Canada Post.
We have relied on Canada Post for low cost shipping of small items both in Canada as well as abroad to the US and overseas (in combination with USPS and Royal Mail for example). Due to the strike action, Canada Post is no longer processing mail in its facilities.
Overseas Orders:
If you choose Canada Post for small package delivery, we will hold your order until Canada Post resumes operations. There is currently no ETA, though we are hopeful that negotiations will be settled soon.
Existing USA destined orders placed with Canada Post:
If you have ordered a smaller item and chosen Canada Post, we have now sent your package using the alternative carrier Sendle. This carrier uses ICS / Canpar Couriers in Canada to (typically) hand off packages to USPS in the US. They use dynamic delivery to choose the right carrier to get to you.
My order was in transit when Canada Post went on strike:
In this case, your package is being securely held by Canada Post and will be sent once the strike is over. We apologize for the delay.
What if I need my package sooner?
You can choose our UPS shipping option. Shipping fees remain unchanged for larger orders (generally anything over $40) and offers great value. If you place an order over $80 CAN/ $60 USD, the shipping is on us! (Canada and USA only).
